Dinner Plain Chalets
Our clients wanted to design a contemporary home, using the 8 metre variance in the levels of the site to create a visually striking home. As these clients worked from home a separate yet integrated functional workplace was also of high priority.
The result was an award winning home with a mix of contemporary and recycled finishes creating contrast and impact. Beautiful recycled Brush-box timber open tread staircases weave their way up and around the home to accommodate the split levels.
Our clients’ desire for extensive landscaping was incorporated by using exposed river pebbles for the sweeping driveway, a stylishly designed pond, and a feature retaining wall to be encompassed by the beautiful gardens. Views of their magnificent landscape are a major focal point and can be seen from most rooms in the house.
Sherbrooke’s meticulous attention to detail is evident when you discover the rich palette of materials used in creating the “wow’ factor. Some of these included Limestone bench tops in the superb kitchen which is finished in “two-pak”, recycled brush-box timber, extensive joinery finished in the highest quality of finishes, glass balustrading, copper panels that clad the front and east side of the first level, recycled Jarrah weather-boards with an oiled finish, and textured rendered walls.
Our clients were delighted with their new home and we were also highly commended by the industry when we won the 2003 HIAV Best Custom Built home $500 - $1 Million class and we were a finalist in the 2003 HIAV Best Overall Custom Built Home.
